Integrated Aerial Precision : Advancing Smart Agriculture with Innov8 Hub’s Support

Across Africa’s agricultural sector, farmers continue to face persistent challenges—low productivity, rising input costs, inefficient practices, and health risks from manual agrochemical application. Integrated Aerial Precision (IAPrecision) was founded to address these gaps by bringing drone technology, data analytics, and AI-powered insights directly into farming operations.

Established in April 2022, IAPrecision is an agri-tech company leveraging precision agriculture to help smallholder and commercial farmers increase yields, reduce waste, and farm more sustainably. Operating from Ikeja, Lagos State, the company provides drone-enabled solutions for crop spraying, spreading, mapping, and monitoring, empowering farmers to make data-informed decisions across agricultural value chains.

From Practical Farming Challenges to Precision Solutions

The idea for IAPrecision emerged from first-hand experience with the inefficiencies of traditional farming methods. Observing the waste, poor yields, and safety risks associated with manual practices, the founders recognized the transformative potential of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and data analytics in agriculture.

By integrating drone operations with AI-powered insights, IAPrecision has positioned itself as a bridge between advanced technology and real-world farming needs—making precision agriculture more accessible, affordable, and impactful.

Innov8 Hub’s Role in Strengthening Innovation and Visibility

Innov8 Hub played a critical role in supporting IAPrecision at a key stage of its growth. Through targeted technical and business support, Innov8 Hub helped the company strengthen both its product offering and market readiness.

Specifically, Innov8 Hub supported IAPrecision through:

  • Technical assistance in developing a ground mixing and chemical transfer system prototype, improving operational safety and efficiency in drone spraying workflows

  • Business development education, equipping the team with tools to structure growth, pricing, and partnerships
  • Visibility and ecosystem access, facilitating exposure to government stakeholders and potential investors

This combination of hands-on innovation support and ecosystem positioning enabled IAPrecision to scale more confidently within Nigeria’s regulated agricultural and aviation landscape.

Strategic Partnerships and National Impact

A major milestone in IAPrecision’s journey was signing a strategic partnership with DJI Agriculture in April 2024, becoming an authorized partner in Nigeria for agricultural drone sales, training, and after-sales support. This collaboration has significantly strengthened the company’s technical capacity and positioned it as a key player in scaling drone adoption for food security and sustainable agriculture.

Additional milestones include:

  • Training over 12,000 youths and farmers through the Precision Field Academy (2023)
  • Selection by the Federal Government of Nigeria as one of 10 startups for the 4IRTA Agri-Wing Demonstration Project (2024)
  • Expansion to 12 Nigerian states, delivering drone services across over 10,000 hectares of farmland (2025)
  • Completion of security clearance and validation of the Remote Piloted Aircraft System Operator Certificate (POC)

Scaling Smarter Farming Through the Right Ecosystem

Integrated Aerial Precision’s journey demonstrates how applied innovation, strong partnerships, and targeted incubation support can accelerate sector-wide transformation. Innov8 Hub’s contribution through technical prototyping support, business capacity building, and strategic visibility has helped position IAPrecision as a trusted provider of precision agriculture solutions in Nigeria.

As the company continues to expand across Africa’s agricultural value chains, its progress reflects Innov8 Hub’s commitment to enabling innovations that drive productivity, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
