Vectar : Unlocking Clean Energy Finance with Innov8 Hub’s Innovation Support

Access to reliable electricity remains one of the most persistent barriers to economic growth across emerging markets. While clean energy solutions exist, many struggle to scale due to limited access to finance. Vectar was founded to bridge this gap by turning measurable social and environmental impact into capital that accelerates clean energy deployment where it is needed most.

Established in September 2020, Vectar is a climate finance company building data-driven infrastructure to support the clean energy transition. Operating from Lagos and Abuja, the company is developing innovative hardware and software systems designed to generate verifiable data that unlocks financing for clean energy assets.

Building Infrastructure for Impact-Driven Finance

Vectar’s work is rooted in a simple insight: impact needs evidence to attract capital. By developing tools that capture and validate clean energy performance data, Vectar enables financiers, developers, and communities to align around scalable, transparent solutions.

Although currently pre-revenue, the company has made significant progress in building its technology stack and partnerships, laying the groundwork for market deployment and long-term scale.

Innov8 Hub’s Role in Enabling Product Development

Innov8 Hub has played a key role in supporting Vectar’s technical development and innovation journey. Through access to specialized expertise, 3D printing facilities, and hands-on innovation support, Innov8 Hub enabled Vectar to accelerate prototyping and product iteration.

This support contributed directly to:

  • Redesign of physical hardware boards and firmware updates
  • Completion of the ecoWise 3D case manufacturing and assembly
  • Continued refinement of both physical and virtual hardware components

Innov8 Hub’s environment provided the practical infrastructure and guidance needed to translate the concept into a functional, deployable technology.

Key Progress and Ecosystem Engagement

Between May and June 2025, Vectar achieved several critical milestones, including:

  • Further development of physical hardware and firmware
  • Membership in the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN)
  • Signing of an NDA and pilot participation agreement with Ceesolar Energy Limited
  • First site visit to a 96kW mini-grid in Gwagwalada, in collaboration with asset owner Dobi Agric
  • Official product launch and press conference

The company also advanced its digital infrastructure, with 85% completion of the ecoWise web architecture, positioning it for integrated hardware-software deployment.

Looking ahead to August 2025 – January 2026, Vectar is progressing toward:

  • Full setup of virtual hardware and web application
  • Installation and integration of physical and virtual systems
  • Commencement of data collection, quality assurance, and validation
  • Ongoing collaboration with Verra as an observation, technical, and innovation partner

Advancing Clean Energy Through the Right Support

Vectar’s journey illustrates how early-stage climate finance innovation benefits from access to technical infrastructure, expert guidance, and a supportive ecosystem. Innov8 Hub’s support has helped Vectar move from early concept toward real-world pilot implementation—strengthening its readiness for partnerships, validation, and future scale.

As Vectar continues to build the infrastructure that turns clean energy impact into investable capital, its progress reflects Innov8 Hub’s commitment to enabling solutions that address systemic challenges in energy access and climate finance.
