The Transformative Innovation Workshop (TIW) is a hybrid program designed to drive community- and institution-focused research and innovation. TIW empowers participants to identify real challenges within institutions and their surrounding communities, and to co-create practical solutions that address them. The program bridges the gap between academic or institutional insight and real-world application, through a deeply experiential learning model.

The program opens with a 4-day virtual experience focused on structured ideation and real-world problem discovery. Guided by expert facilitators, participants engage with those directly experiencing institutional or community-level challenges to conduct interviews, gather insights, and validate the problems they aim to solve.

This interaction anchors their ideas in lived experience, ensuring that what they bring to the next stage of the program is grounded in relevance and need.

The teams showcased their innovative prototypes and pitched their ideas and videos at the grand closing ceremony.

Participants carry their validated problems into a 14-day, fully immersive in-person workshop where the real transformation begins.

The in-person program is heavily focused on practical skill-building, ensuring participants don’t just learn innovation theory but actively apply tools to turn complex problems into tangible, testable solutions.

TIW is an engine for innovation that turns validated problems into real prototypes and sparks meaningful change within institutions and communities.
